About Heat Sinks
Heat sinks are used to enhance heat dissipation from hot surfaces. 
A heat sink does this by increasing the surface area that is in contact with the cooling fluid or air. Today, aluminum extrusions provide the most cost effective solution for cooling the majority of electronic devices. The most common alloy for heat sinks is 6063-T5.
